A First Time For Everything is one of two songs on the EP to have been written about Nex's girlfriend, Lizzy Mann.
The song is about feeling love for the first time against all odds. Lizzy and Nex have an unusual relationship in that the first six months progressed without them meeting. They live in separate countries and there are often many barriers to their relationship. However, this song is about the strength of their commitment to each other overcoming those barriers. Knowing that somehow they found each other in the void, and they never want to let go.
