Someone made a donation to engeo today on Jamendo.
I must say, I was quite touched at someone doing that. Truthfully, engeo doesn't get that much feedback about our stuff. We don't expect much because we don't do any promotional stuff and we never do gigs. But we do see people downloading our stuff and occasionally buying it or licensing it and it does make us feel good.
But even though we get a fair number of downloads, and the odd sale on iTunes or whatever, people very rarely contact us. Some guys in Korea made a music video for one of our songs for a film competition. That was really cool. But we're not really inundated with people telling us how good/bad we are.
Somehow, someone making a donation rather than buying the album seems to be quite a strong communication for us. I often worry that people on iTunes don't realise that they are really giving a donation when they buy our stuff because it is free elsewhere. Having someone download it, then give us money and a message anyway really warms my heart.
So, here is a warm thanks to Timothy D' who was the first person to do it. Cheers to you good sir and thank you from engeo.

Well, we said we would and we have. Engeo have started a podcast. For the moment we're going to be releasing episodes in pairs. One with just a song, and the other will be discussing it.

There has been a lot of talk recently about the music industry facing ever increasing problems. Usually this is attributed to piracy and file sharing communities on the internet. However, perhaps it is just that they have been taking advantage for too long and people have had enough.

Jaime and Nex met up at the weekend to record the last song for their second EP, “This Is The First”. A title which has turned out to be nicely ironic. They also had time to record the remaining parts of the other songs and a release is sure to come soon.
Jaime and Nex have found the recording process to be a struggle as it was hard to schedule round their real lives. All in all, this second EP had its first recording session about five years ago.

The internet for many years was simply a series of people saying things where no one could reply (or simply a bunch of adverts). Things are better now with wiki use, comment systems and social sites like Digg and MySpace. Many sites are now set up to allow people to interact directly, and that's super.
However, for the sites that don't allow it or don't suit it, Dai.sy allows the visitors to add comments, ideas, suggestions, media and anything else they feel they want to say. Imagine that every page on the internet has a separate site where you can post comments about the page (or the site), share files that you think are relevant and have a chat room that is persistent. Not only that, but this is all done without censorship and without user accounts (therefore anonymous). Completely free to use and out with the control of the website owners that the separate site is associated with. Dai.sy provides all this for anyone using Firefox (the best web browser there is in my opinion) as a plug-in.
Though there may not currently be a page on our main site that suits direct feedback, we greatly encourage our visitors to say anything they like in our Dai.sy pages (i.e., any page on our site, since every page on the internet has a Dai.sy page).
Have fun dudes!

It was recently my birthday and my lovely parents and my lovely girlfriend bought be guitar pedals to mark the occasion. I've never really had a good quality pedal before (I do have a zoom multipedal, but it sounds a bit pants to be honest and we've never used it for either live performances or recordings).
Lizzy got me a CryBaby WahWah pedal and my folks got me a Digitech Whammy. The later was because Jaime and I have decided that our rock E.P. just doesn't have that wall of sound that we wanted. We've determined this to be due to the lack of bass in it. So, we are going to fake bass using the Whammy pedal which is well suited to the task (listen to the 'bass' in Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes for an example).
And the CryBaby was just cause I've always wanted one. And they both kick ass. So expect to hear them demonstrated in our next releases.
Jaime and I were playing with them the other day before we went to see the Simpsons Movie (which also kicks much ass), and we're both very taken with them. It was also great to hear Jaime's new Fender Tele which he got for his birthday.
Suddenly starting to feel like our electric equipment is getting quite pro these days. Odd for me since we've focussed on acoustic stuff for so long.
Only thing we need now is a new soundcard for my computer.
Isn't it all grand?

Shortly after we launched the new website, we also relaunched our European store to fit it with the new look. Then, while we were at it, we launched a U.S.A., Canada and Mexico store.
The reach is actually a little more global than that. Basically, if you live in Europe, choose the European store, and if you live anywhere else then have a go with the other one. You can get to both of them by choosing the shop link on the main menu.
Have fun people,

Well, after many years of using an awful website that was largely produced in a single weekend, engeo have finally replaced it with a more professional one (that was largely produced in a single weekend).
We hope that you like the new site and that it stays more up to date than the last one. Any feedback or suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks everyone!
