This song is about connecting with musicians as they play music. It was inspired by a cellist in the Kelvin Ensemble at Glasgow University, so that's why we called it, 'The Cellist'.
Although it seems that the cellist in question was a little freaked out when she found out that engeo had written a song about her, this breach of etiquette was later forgiven. Though it is now hardly a secret to the friends of the band (or the cellist) who this song was about, I will not mention her name in order to save her further embarrassment.
I try to write about the things you've shown me.
And all is right, just because you've known me.
And I can see it in your eyes; they can't disguise the light inside.
And I can feel it in my mind.
The twisting of our souls is on my mind.
Certain that this feeling is a sign.
It's just a feeling deep inside.
And I can see it in your eyes.
I've tried to write about the things you've shown me.
