After a fairly idyllic infancy, Nexami (or “Nex” to his friends) spent 7 years going to Langloan Primary School where he generally felt he did not belong and spent most of his time battling with the other pupils whom he felt were persecuting him. Time outside of school was spent happily climbing trees and running away from gun-happy farmers with his friends (who, not coincidentally, were generally not from his class at school).
Those days came and went and Nex was more than willing to go to a far away high school and make new friends. Nex's time at high school (Hamilton College) was full of fun and learning. Nex took great pleasure from being involved in school life and joined as many clubs and committees as he could.
Although he was only eight years old when he began learning the violin, it was plainly obvious to Nex that he had absolutely no musical talent. Nevertheless, he continued to inflict his 'music' on his family and friends, who endured the toil gracefully.
When Nex was eleven, his father gave him a guitar. Nex slowly taught himself and was writing songs quicker than he could learn to play them. After coming third in his high school's music festival, Nex decided maybe there was enough talent there to have a go at music.
After deciding that rock and pop was the easiest form of music to write and perform, he formed a band called “engeo”.
